Never got to do it early in life, but in a few years when the kids are grown, I'll be off. I guess 50 is the new 30 right?? Great info on gear as well as the psyche, or lack thereof, to make this happen. I usually give a hitch or two every summer to hikers coming into town from the AT, some day I hope to be the one hitching into town.
